So it seems as though our friends on the other side of the pond have been having luck with CT1 Sealant and Construction Adhesive. However the stuff is proving hard to find over here. I think that Dow Corning 1437 Industrial Sealant and Adhesive would be a good alternative just looking at the data sheets. The problem is I need to buy $50 worth in order to try it out. If anyone finds a source of this let me know, and if I do, I will report back with the results. M

Sounds good! I'm going to order it asap if I can find it online. My passenger side just fell completely.
What did you do to prep the two contact areas?

Well have just scraped the old glue from the previous owner (i think it was some kind of superglue ) and then I cleaned them with isopropyl alcohol, then i just applied a thin line of glue in middle of the rubber piece that comes down , but not too thick because the glue is white and we don't want to come out on the sides and be visible (see the thickness reference in that image ) In the end just used some normal paper tape like masking tape to hold the pieces together until the glue gets strong.

Sounds good. I checked this adhesive on amazon and it's like $80. WTH.
